Top 5 Sweet, Spring Romance Novels
Updated: Jul 29, 2020

Something about springtime puts me in the mood for a sweet, swoon-worthy romance. Perhaps it's centuries of conditioning around spring weddings. Or maybe it's the rustle of hope and possibilities carried on the aromatic, lilac-scented breeze. Whatever the case, I've compiled a list of five, fresh-faced favorites that will pair perfectly with a cozy porch swing and glass of sweetened iced tea.
Love, Lies and Lavender
Confession: After falling in love with D.E. Malone's Hearts in Hendrick's series, this book was a one-click for me.
Old Scars Are No Match For a Second Chance at Love.
Widow Hilary Larkin must fulfill her late husband's dream of opening a bed-and-breakfast adjacent to an old orchard. The small farms conference in the Minnesota Northwoods is supposed to be the boost to make it possible. But her fear of change turns to high anxiety when her sister-in-law misses the plane for their trip together after a family crisis.
Along comes Dane Porter, lavender farmer and guest speaker at the conference, and talk soon turns to more than just farming. Even though he locked up his heart after his ex-wife betrayed him, he's drawn to the beautiful and complicated Hilary. But the ring on her finger sets a boundary he would never cross.
Falling head over boots for Hilary, Dane still worries putting his trust in another woman could lead to heartbreak. And Hilary has her own shadows from the past, ones her meddling sister-in-law might use to ruin Hilary's chance of finding love again.
Will two people from different worlds overcome their pain for the perfect second chance?

In the Market for Love
Nothing says spring quite like a farmers farmer bursting with freshly-picked flowers. This book is a light, breezy read for a relaxing afternoon.
Sophie Potters’ life is in full bloom. Running both a thriving flower farm and successful Farmers’ Market, she’s living out her dreams in the idyllic Northern California town of Fairvale. While Sophie might be able to create stunning bouquets, she withers when it comes to romance. Content with her single status, she resolves to focus on her work, until a lost piece of luggage lands a handsome stranger on her porch.
Landscape architect, Cole Blankenship, has always lived in his father’s shadow. When he’s selected as the designer for a popular backyard contest, a trip out west offers an opportunity to finally prove himself. He meets the charismatic florist who farms the same plot of land and tensions grow, along with unexpected feelings. But any sort of relationship is prohibited and could cost Cole the first place title and Sophie, her livelihood.
Will Sophie and Cole let a contest dictate their love lives? Or will they discover that love grows best when you follow your heart and not the rules?

A Simple Wedding
It doesn't get much sweeter than Hallmark. And A Simple Wedding is no exception. While it incorporates one of my least favorite tropes (mistaken identity), Leigh Duncan pulls it off well with the most swoon-worthy chemistry between her leads. Warning: this book will make you crave cupcakes. ;)
Jenny always dreamed of getting married at Heart’s Landing. But when she finally visits the charming small town, she’s there to make wedding arrangements for someone else: her cousin, who also happens to be her boss and a famous movie star. To keep the event secret and avoid a media circus, Jenny pretends she’s the one getting married.
Nick is intrigued by this bride-to-be who starts visiting his bakery every afternoon for sweet treats and conversation. He has to keep reminding himself that she’s already spoken for.
As Jenny deals with her cousin’s ever-changing demands, she tries to hide her attraction to Nick. Planning this wedding couldn’t be more complicated…and what will happen once the truth comes to light?
Also a Hallmark movie.

The Inn at Willa Bay
Although women's fiction not romance, The Inn at Willa Bay will have you swooning over spring weddings while unraveling a small mystery.
Dreams for the future and a secret that will change everything.
The first time Zoe Tisdale's Barbie and Ken dolls got married, it was all about the ceremony. Twenty years later, she’s devoured hundreds of wedding magazines and planned thousands of events. All of her dreams will come true when she’s promoted to Event Manager at the lodge she’s worked at for the last decade. Of course, life seldom works out the way one hopes it will.
Zoe’s friend Meg used to be a big city chef, but when her mother was diagnosed with cancer, Meg returned to Willa Bay to work at the lodge and be closer to her family. Now she’s wondering if small town life is right for her.
Their co-worker Cassie, the lodge’s pastry chef, is struggling to find her way as a divorced mom of two, but it seems like it’s always one step forward, two steps back.
When an accident leaves their elderly friend Celia in a coma, Zoe, Cassie, Meg, and a mysterious newcomer, Shawn, come together at Celia’s home, the Inn at Willa Bay, to discover a secret that she’s harbored for over sixty years.
Armed with this knowledge, Zoe and the others take stock of choices they've made in the past and make decisions that will alter their futures forever.
This heartwarming novel will renew your faith in love, friendship, and family.
