New City, New Series

Plotting in Paris

As book 1 in my upcoming Poppy Creek series sits in the hands of my lovely beta readers, my husband and I will be on a plane heading to France to research my next series, Wandering Ivy. While I will miss Poppy Creek, and the townspeople I have come to love dearly, I can't tell you how excited I am to embark on this new journey and series! Ivy Wilde is such a fun and intriguing character and I look forward to walking in her (very stylish) shoes along the cobbled streets of Paris.

Armed with my outline and my notes app, I plan to visit every cafe' and soak up enough ambiance (and espresso) to last a lifetime. Or, at least enough to carry me through the next few months of writing Wandering Ivy. I'll also be searching for one place in particular... the cafe' that will serve as inspiration for a very special setting. When I find it, I'll know instantly.

However, it won't all be sipping un café au lait and indulging in macarons (although, that will be a HUGE part of my research *wink *wink). We will also stop at iconic landmarks that will make an appearance in the book. After all, no visit to Paris is complete without seeing the Eiffel Tower sparkle against the night sky. Or, how can I call myself a romance author without visiting the famed Love Locks Bridge?
In addition to experiencing the more well-known areas of Paris, I long to get lost down meandering side streets, secret gardens, and hidden pathways. I don't want to only see The City of Love through the eyes of a tourist, but through the eyes of an artist. Famous authors like Hemingway and Fitzgerald lived in Paris, drawing on its beauty to inspire them. There is something magical about Paris. It speaks to the heart and soul in a way unlike any other city on earth. You just have to listen.

Our Parisian adventures begin October 5th, 2018!
